Meaning
A large metal or enamel basin used for washing — clothes, dishes, or bathing a baby — and for all manner of other jobs, from soaking peas to holding produce. The big galvanised or enamel wash pan is one of the most useful, ever-present vessels in the Jamaican home and yard, pressed into service for whatever needs a big bowl.
