Meaning
A grove of pimento (allspice) trees — a 'walk' being a stand of a single crop. Pimento grows wild and cultivated on the Jamaican hills, and from the walk the green berries are picked, dried in the sun on a barbecue until brown and hard, and sold as the spice the world knows as allspice. Because pimento is uniquely Jamaican in quality, the pimento walk has long been a valued piece of family land.
