Meaning
A field or grove of banana plants — in Jamaican usage a 'walk' is a planted grove of a single crop, so a banana walk is a stand of bananas grown for food and market. In the great banana days the walks covered whole valleys and hillsides, and the word survives from that era of the banana trade. You go 'up a di banana walk' to cut a bunch or tend the plants.
