A prayer meeting where believers 'tarry' — wait earnestly on God through prolonged, fervent prayer, singing, and repetition ('Lord, Jesus, Lord...') until they feel the Holy Spirit, often seeking to receive the Spirit or speak in tongues. Common in Pentecostal and Revival churches, tarrying can go on for hours, building to intense, Spirit-filled worship.
