Meaning
A dancehall event or party where a sound system plays through the night. The session is the social heart of the culture — the place where new tunes are tested on the crowd, where dances are born and spread, where the mic man and selector work the vibe, and where the community comes together to enjoy the music. From a small yard dance to a big staged event, the session is where dancehall lives and breathes, and to keep or attend one is a central ritual of the culture.

How it’s used
Interchangeable with 'dance' or 'a keep'. An open-air street session is often called a 'lawn'.
