Meaning
A fungal skin infection that shows as a round, scaly, itchy patch with a raised ring around the edge — despite the name, no worm is involved. Ringworm is a common complaint, treated with folk remedies from bush and household things like the milky sap of a green pawpaw or blue soap, as well as shop ointments. On the scalp it can leave a bald patch, and it is easily passed from one person to another.
