Meaning
A large, firm-fleshed reef fish, one of the most valued eating fish in Jamaica — meaty and sweet, excellent steamed, fried, or in a rich fish soup ('fish tea'). A good-sized grouper is a prize catch and a centrepiece dish at a fish fry or Sunday dinner by the sea.
