Meaning
A title for God, and in Rastafari specifically for Haile Selassie I — taken from the Book of Daniel's vision of the eternal, white-haired 'Ancient of Days' seated in judgment. Rastas apply it to Selassie as the eternal, ever-living Jah, emphasising his divinity and timelessness. It appears in reggae lyric and reasoning as one of the honorific names of the Most High.
