Meaning
The yellowtail snapper — a reef fish with a yellow stripe and yellow tail, one of the most prized eating fish in Jamaica. Sweet and firm, yellowtail is a favourite for frying whole and serving with bammy and festival, or steaming down, and a fresh yellowtail at the seaside fish shop is a treat worth paying for. Fishermen and cooks alike rate it highly among the reef fish brought in from the sea.
