Meaning
A small reddish reef fish with a pair of whisker-like barbels under its chin — the 'goat fish', named for those goat-like whiskers, which it uses to feel along the sea floor for food. Caught in fish pots and on the line, goat fish is a common, tasty pan fish, fried up whole and eaten with the usual bammy or festival, one of the everyday catches from the reef that fill the seaside fish shop.
