Meaning
A folk-belief condition, said of a woman, of having an insatiable sexual appetite — supposedly caused by a 'white' (pale) liver. In the fuller superstition a white-liver woman is even blamed for the early death of her partners, 'wearing them out' or bringing them bad luck, one after another. A traditional belief, not a medical fact, and used as a heavy accusation.
