Meaning
To stand up in church and publicly tell of God's goodness in one's life — sharing a personal story of blessing, deliverance, healing, or answered prayer before the congregation. 'Giving testimony' is a moving, participatory part of Jamaican church worship, especially in the Revival, Pentecostal, and evangelical traditions, where the believer's own words of thanks and witness are part of the service. To testify is to bear open, heartfelt witness to what the Lord has done, and the congregation answers with amens and rejoicing.
