Meaning
'Master God' — a reverent exclamation calling on God, used in moments of pleading, gratitude, distress, or wonder. 'Massa' (master) is applied to God as the supreme Lord, and 'Massa God!' bursts out with deep, prayerful feeling at a shock, a sorrow, a blessing, or a marvel, half exclamation and half prayer.
