Meaning
Sweet, brightly coloured flavoured sugar syrup — most famously the strawberry-red syrup poured over a shaved-ice snowball, and used to sweeten and colour cold drinks and 'suck-suck'. The snowball man's rainbow of syrup bottles is a fixture of the hot Jamaican street, and to ask for 'plenty syrup' on your snowball is half the pleasure. Home-made syrup is also boiled from sugar for drinks and puddings.
