Strong

adjective STRAANG

Strong — powerful in body, spirit, or effect. Of a person it praises toughness and resilience (close to 'tallawah', which insists the small but mighty are not to be underrated); of rum, pepper, or coffee it means potent; of a smell or the sun, intense. 'Gwaan strong' urges someone to stay firm.

The white rum is strong — take it slow.

  • Shi strong, shi carry di whole family.

She's strong — she carries the whole family.

From English 'strong'. See [[tallawah]], [[gwaan-strong]].
