Meaning
A member or representative of a sound system — and, in the heat of a sound clash, a scornful name for the rival sound you set out to defeat. To 'kill the sound boy' or 'bury the sound bwoy' is clash talk for beating the opposing sound so badly it is humiliated, a whole genre of dubplates and lyrics built around burying the sound boy. So the term runs from a plain member of a sound to a taunt hurled at the enemy sound.
