Meaning
River — the running fresh water where country folk bathe, wash clothes, catch janga (crayfish), and cool off, and where families picnic at a 'blue hole' or river head. Rivers carry folklore too, from 'river mumma' (the water spirit) to the caution not to bathe alone.
