Puppa-lick

noun PUP-pa-lik ˈpʌpalɪk

Also spelled puppalick, puppa lick, pupperlick

A somersault — turning head over heels. To 'cut a puppa-lick' is to do a somersault or a flip, whether a child tumbling joyfully on the grass, an acrobat's roll, or someone knocked so hard by a blow that they go head over heels. It is also used figuratively when things turn topsy-turvy, when a situation flips right over. A vivid, playful word, it names the whole tumbling, upside-down motion, from the child's exuberant flip to the violent knock that sends a person sprawling heels over head.
