Ludo

noun LOO-do ˈluːdo

Also spelled ludu, loodo

The dice-and-counters board game hugely popular in Jamaican homes — players race their four tokens around the board according to dice rolls, sending opponents' pieces back to start. A staple of family and yard entertainment (especially when the power's out or the rain's falling), ludo games are famous for the shouting, cheating accusations, and cut-throat rivalry they provoke.
