Meaning
The Rastafari concept of righteous living — the whole way a person conducts their life, taken as an expression of the divine energy ('life') within. Livity gathers up diet (the natural, often ital, food one eats), speech, dress, conduct, work, and spiritual practice into a single, consistent way of being, lived in harmony with Jah and creation. More than a set of rules, it is the outward, everyday living-out of one's faith and consciousness, and to hold a strong livity is to walk one's path with integrity and purpose.

Origin
Coined in Rastafari Iyaric from English "live" plus the abstract noun ending -ity, deliberately replacing "life" — which contains no sense of ongoing action — with a word built on living as a continuous practice.

A serious spiritual term, not casual slang. It refers to conduct as a whole rather than any single habit, and is used mainly within or about Rastafari communities.
