Meaning
The chalice or pipe used to smoke ganja in Rastafari reasoning — passed from one person to the next around the circle. Made famous the world over by the anthem 'Pass the Kouchie', the kutchie stands for the communal sharing of the sacred herb, the ritual of drawing and passing that binds the brethren in fellowship and meditation. It belongs to the heart of Rastafari practice, where smoking the herb together is an act of communion, and the kutchie moving hand to hand is a picture of unity and shared devotion.
