Meaning
Shut your mouth; be quiet — from 'kibba' (to cover, close, or shut). A firm command to stop talking, whether telling someone to stop noise, stop revealing things, or stop back-chatting. 'Kibba' on its own also means to cover or cover up ('kibba di pot'). Sharper than 'hush', it is a blunt order to keep quiet.
