Meaning
A road junction where routes meet — and, very often in Jamaica, the small commercial centre that grows up around it: the cluster of shops, bars, a bus stop, and taxi men that makes 'di junction' the natural gathering and meeting place of a district. To wait, shop, or 'link up' at the junction is part of everyday life, and many places take their name from being a junction. It is the beating heart of a small town.
