Meaning
The guango or 'rain tree' — a huge, spreading shade tree with a wide umbrella canopy, common in Jamaican pastures and yards. Cattle shelter and feed under it (livestock eat its sweet seed pods), and its broad shade makes it a natural gathering spot. Its dense wood is prized for carving bowls and furniture.
