Ginger — the pungent root at the heart of Jamaican drink and cooking, grown in the hills and prized worldwide. It flavours ginger tea and the fiery homemade ginger beer, and joins sorrel and spice at Christmas. Also used as a warming home remedy for a cold or upset stomach.
