Meaning
A dress — a woman's or girl's one-piece dress or gown. 'Frock' is the everyday Jamaican word for a dress, from the plain house frock worn about the yard to the 'good frock' or 'church frock' kept for Sundays and special days. To 'put on yuh frock' is to get dressed up, and a new frock for Christmas or a birthday is a small joy long remembered. It is one of the settled old English words kept alive in Jamaican speech.
