Meaning
An energetic dancehall dance craze of the mid-2000s, involving fast, circular whining of the waist together with a vigorous rolling and whipping of the head and neck. Named and popularised by a hit song of the same name, the dutty wine swept dancehalls at home and abroad, and its dramatic head-spinning became notorious — thrilling to perform but blamed for injuries when done recklessly. It stands among the great named dance moves that dancehall throws up and the crowd takes wildly to for a season.
