Meaning
The surgeonfish or tang — a flat, oval reef fish named for the sharp scalpel-like spine near its tail. A common and tasty eating fish in Jamaica, doctor-fish is fried or steamed and often turns up in a good fish soup or on the fried-fish plate at the beach.
