Meaning
A chatterbox — someone who talks incessantly, and often indiscreetly, running on and on and repeating what should be kept quiet. As a verb, to 'chatta' is to prattle without stop. Close to a 'blabba mout', the word labels a person who cannot hold their tongue, forever talking and carrying news, and it is a mild reproach in a culture wary of the loose tongue and the tale-bearer, aimed at the one whose mouth simply will not rest.
