Meaning
A stepfather — the Patois pronunciation of 'stepfather' ('fada' = father). The man who partners a child's mother and helps raise the child. In Jamaica's often blended, extended families, the step-fada and 'step-pickney' relationship is common, and 'grow' (raise) often crosses blood lines.
