Meaning
The Jamaican name for the aloe vera plant — the thick, spiky succulent whose clear inner gel is a cornerstone of home remedy. The bitter gel is drunk (boiled or blended) to 'wash out' and cleanse the system, rubbed on burns, cuts, and skin, and used on the hair and scalp. A must-have plant in almost every yard.
