Side ting

noun SIDE TING saɪd tɪŋ

Also spelled side-ting, side gyal, side chick

A secondary romantic partner kept 'on the side' — a fling or side chick that a person has in addition to their main partner. A 'side ting' (or 'side gyal') is not the number-one and usually is kept secret from the 'main gyal'. It is the newer, more casual dancehall equivalent of the older 'matey' (the mistress).
