Meaning
The pioneering Rastafari commune founded by Leonard 'Gong' Howell in the hills of St. Catherine in the late 1930s — the first large self-sufficient Rasta community, where thousands lived off the land and 'ganja' cultivation. Repeatedly raided and finally destroyed by the authorities in the 1950s, Pinnacle is revered as a cradle of the Rastafari movement.

Origin
The hilltop estate near Sligoville, St. Catherine, where Leonard Howell established the early Rastafari commune (c.1940); named for its high situation.
