Meaning
A large shade tree that bears long, flat, dry seed pods which rattle and chatter noisily in the wind — so named ('woman's tongue') for the endless clattering sound, likened teasingly to a woman talking without stop. The tree is common along roadsides and in pastures. By extension, 'ooman tongue' can also be used figuratively of ceaseless talking or gossip, playing on the same joke.
