Meaning
The crusty matter that gathers in the corner of the eye — 'sleep' or eye-crust, especially on waking. By extension it can name any gummy gunk or discharge. 'Wash di nyampi outta yuh eye' tells someone to clean the sleep from their eyes. (Not to be confused with 'yampi' the yam.)
