Meaning
Monkey — not native to Jamaica but alive in proverb and talk, standing for mischief, mimicry, and folly. 'Falla-fashion monkey' is the one who copies others without sense ('follow-fashion monkey never drink good soup'), a caution against blind imitation. 'Play monkey' is to act the fool.
