Meaning
A round, hard boiled sweet flavoured with peppermint — usually red-and-white striped — that you suck slowly for its cool, sharp mint taste. Mint balls are a classic penny sweet from the Jamaican corner shop and the sweetie jar, sold loose one or two at a time, and for generations they were the small treat that a few cents could buy a child.
