Covetous and greedy — casting a longing, grasping eye over what belongs to others and never satisfied with your own share. A 'long-eye' person wants more than their portion, eyes other people's food or possessions, and is grudging of what they have. Close to 'craven' (greedy) and tied to 'bad-mind' envy.
