Meaning
Beyond temperature, 'hot' means excellent, exciting, and the centre of attention — a 'hot' tune is a smash, a 'hot gyal' is a stunner. But it also means dangerous or 'too hot to handle': a place where trouble or the police are active is 'hot', and someone whose name is on everyone's lips (for good or ill) is 'hot'.
