Meaning
Ripened before its time — used both of fruit forced to ripen artificially before it is naturally ready, and, more commonly, of a child who behaves in a grown, precocious, or over-familiar way beyond their years. A 'force-ripe' youngster acts adult before they should, fresh and forward and meddling in grown folks' business, and the word carries a note of disapproval, since such precocity is to be checked. Like the fruit ripened too soon, the force-ripe child has been rushed to a maturity that is not truly theirs.
