Meaning
Very fat, plump, and full — the reduplication of 'fat' intensifying it. Often said warmly of a healthy, chubby baby ('a fat-fat pickney') or of plump, well-filled food (a 'fat-fat' dumpling). In a culture where a well-fed, rounded figure has often signalled health and prosperity, 'fat-fat' can be admiring as much as merely descriptive.
