Meaning
Private after-school tutoring — extra classes a child attends beyond the normal school day, often at a teacher's home or in a group, to prepare for big exams. 'Lessons' or 'extra lesson' is a huge part of Jamaican education, and many parents sacrifice to pay for it so a child can pass the crucial primary-exit or high-school exams.
