Meaning
Completely and utterly finished — the reduplication of 'done' stressing that a thing is thoroughly over, used up, or complete, with nothing left. Where 'done' says finished, 'done done' says finished for good and all: the money is 'done done' when there is not a cent left, a relationship is 'done done' when it is truly over. The doubling drives home the totality and the finality.
