Deh pon

phrase deh-PAN

'To be on / at / onto' — 'deh' (to be) plus 'pon' (on). It fixes something in place ('di book deh pon di table') and, figuratively, marks being busy with or set on a task: 'mi deh pon it' means I'm on it, I'm handling it. Also 'deh pon a ting' — up to something.

  • Mi deh pon it right now.

    I'm on it right now.

  • Di plate deh pon di counter.

The plate is on the counter.

'deh' (be) + 'pon' (on). See [[pon]], [[deh]].

'to be on/at'; 'mi deh pon it' = I'm handling it.
