Meaning
A toad — the big, warty, hopping amphibian (in Jamaica usually the introduced cane toad) that comes out at night, especially after rain. From the French 'crapaud', the word survives in Caribbean speech and proverb, as in 'crapaud smoke yuh pipe' — you are in serious trouble.
