Meaning
A climbing bean vine whose seed pods are covered in fine hairs that cause a fierce, maddening itch on contact with the skin — a notorious bush hazard. Pranksters have been known to drop the itchy hairs down someone's back. The seeds also have folk-medicinal and, more recently, health uses, but the plant is best known and feared for its itch.
