Meaning
A small round fruit (the jujube or Indian plum) with crisp, apple-like flesh and a single hard stone, ripening from green to reddish-brown. Sweet-tart and crunchy, coolie plums are a favourite roadside and schoolyard snack in season, sold in little bags. The name reflects the fruit's arrival with Indian indentured labourers.

Origin
