Meaning
The Caribbean diaspora — the great communities of Jamaicans and other West Indians settled abroad, above all in the UK, the US, and Canada, who keep the culture alive through food, music, patois, church, and above all Carnival. It sends remittances 'a yaad', shapes politics and taste in host cities, and keeps a tight thread back to the islands.
