Meaning
A small, dark-skinned Jamaican mango variety — the 'blackie' — with a deep green-to-blackish skin and sweet, juicy flesh. One of the many named mangoes of the island, the blackie is a favourite despite (or because of) its small size, easy to eat two or three at a time in the heat of mango season. Its dark skin sets it apart at a glance among the mango vendor's mixed heaps.
