A grown, mature woman — an adult, responsible for herself, past the age of a girl. 'She a big woman now' marks that someone has come of age. It can also be a rebuke: telling a grown woman to act her age ('yuh a big woman, behave yuhself'), or, said of a young girl acting too grown, a warning she is 'playing big woman' before her time.
